ARTI Joint Health and Safety Unit (OSGB) services; brings together expert talents in the field with institutions. It is a private institution authorized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to provide occupational health and safety services to workplaces operating in the public and private sectors. It employs an authorized Workplace Physician, Occupational Safety Specialist and Other Health Personnel.
Legal Status of the Joint Health and Safety Unit (OSGB)
Joint Health and Safety Units are public institutions and organizations and private law legal entities established outside the workplace to provide occupational health and safety services to one or more workplaces, having the necessary equipment and personnel and authorized by the General Directorate.
This regulation dated 27 November 2010 and numbered 27768 covers,
a) Workplaces where at least 50 workers are continuously employed in terms of establishing a workplace health and safety unit or receiving services from joint health and safety units established outside the workplace and assigning a workplace doctor and other personnel when necessary,
b) Workplaces where jobs considered as industrial are performed and at least 50 workers are continuously employed in terms of assigning an occupational safety expert engineer or technical staff.
Employers are obliged to establish a workplace health and safety unit to provide this service in workplaces where they employ at least 50 workers on a permanent basis, and to assign one or more workplace physicians, other personnel if necessary, and one or more occupational safety experts in jobs considered industrial.
Employers may also fulfill these obligations by receiving all or part of their occupational health and safety services from joint health and safety units established outside the workplace. Employers cannot receive health and safety services from different Joint Health and Safety Units. Receiving services from Joint Health and Safety Units does not eliminate the employer’s legal responsibilities.
